This position is located within the Office of the Director, Training Branch, Multi-Door Dispute Resolution Division of the District of Columbia Superior Court. The incumbent provides support to the mediation training program by assisting with development of continuing education, coordinating the volunteer and mediator term renewal and peer review process, conducting outreach to increase awareness of the divisions’ mediation programs and recruiting new mediators.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED plus six (6) years of administrative experience in a court or legal environment of which includes one (1) year of alternative dispute resolution/conflict resolution experience. Experience can be part-professional and or/volunteer dispute resolution experience. Education Substitution: A bachelor's degree in a related field plus two (2) years of administrative experience in a court or legal environment of which includes one (1) year of alternative dispute resolution/conflict resolution experience. Experience can be part-professional and or/volunteer dispute resolution experience.  A master's degree in a related field plus one (1) year of alternative dispute resolution/conflict resolution experience. Experience can be part-professional and or/volunteer dispute resolution experience.  Preferred Qualification: Completion of basic mediation training. Two (2) years of experiences as a family, civil or community mediator. Two (2) years of experience in developing and conducting trainings/and or presentations. Please note that authorization for the release of your adult criminal record revealing any convictions and forfeitures, and any criminal cases currently pending before the courts is required.  If you are selected for the position, a criminal history records check will be conducted.
