Duties
Serves as a regional petroleum logistics operations, planning, and intelligence analyst within the DLA Energy Plans and Operations Division.
Maintains familiarity with all aspects of petroleum distribution operations and planning to support and to provide a comprehensive regional assessment of a designated theater of operations -
(con't) corresponding to one or more of the Unified Command's theater of operations.
Serves as a regional expert by reviewing and researching classified and unclassified sources of information for military operations and exercises.
Performs analysis on fuel stock data in the Inventory Management Plan (IMP) and recommends revisions to stock levels to enhance DLA Energy ability to support DoD requirements.
Leads or participates as a technical expert, in interagency study groups to resolve problems existing in petroleum logistics management which require innovative solutions.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Expert knowledge of DoD and DLA Energy systems related to procurement, transportation, storage, distribution, and quality testing of petroleum products to evaluate Class Ill (B) factors for Combatant Commander Operational plans and develop Class Ill (B) solutions for crisis/contingency operations.
Comprehensive and expert knowledge of petroleum logistics operations and policy requirements to function as a technical authority. Assignments require the application of new theories, concepts, and/or developments to logistics problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted methods, techniques, or procedure.
Thorough knowledge of the DLA Energy organization, mission, and functions as well as the relationship between DLA Energy and elements of the DoD and other government agencies to serve as the DoD wholesale petroleum focal point.
Thorough knowledge of spreadsheet, graphics, and word processing tools for the preparation of correspondence briefings and reports.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
