This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-Joint Service Provider (JP 341).
Duties
Direct data analysis to identify the technical benefits and potential utilization of systems and technologies. Provide advanced technical support and guidance to staff in matters relating to information technology (IT)/ information management issues.
Perform comprehensive needs analyses to define opportunities for new or improved business process IT solutions. Consult with customers to identify and specify requirements. Develop overall functional and systems requirements and specifications.
Manage an area of specialized systems technology, such as, software intensive systems, database management and life cycle management systems, involving the design and development of applications and the management of information as a resource.
Provide technical advice and assistance to information users such as programmers, system analysts, monitors, operators, vendors, functional specialists, and managers in the resolution of unique or unprecedented software problems.
Provide information management systems software direction and technical guidance to the information mission area users and maintain technical surveillance over software used in information management. Coordinate all assigned projects.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13 level, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: experienceapplying analytical processes to the planning, design and implementation of new and improved information systems to meet the business requirements of customer organizations.
