Duties
Serves as the Lead Store Associate in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) location. The primary purpose of this position is to lead three or more employees in carrying out the main work assignments needed to successfully operate a commissary store.
Position responsibilities include:
Distributes and balances workload among employees, assuring timely accomplishment of assigned workload.
Monitors the status of work and makes adjustments in accordance with established priorities.
Provides on-the-job training in specific tasks and job techniques.
Recommends changes in work methods to improve timeliness and quality of work.
Provides input to supervisor on employee performance, conduct and training needs.
Performs work in various areas of the commissary.

- Physical Requirements:
Frequently lift, push, pull, carry and handle grocery store products weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Qualifications
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify for this position your resume and supporting documents must show that you possess (A) 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level or equivalent to at least GS-04 under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military, OR (B) 4 years of higher education above the high school level, OR (C) a combination of experience and education that equals 100% of the qualification requirements. To compute the percentage of experience and education you have that meets the qualification requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours by 60. Add the two percentages.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience:
Supporting all aspects of the work performed in the various departments of a retail grocery store.
Operating an electronic checkout system.
Conducting on the job training in specific tasks and job techniques.

You must also meet the following requirements by the announcement closing date:
Current and former federal employees in either the competitive or excepted service and current federal employees applying under VEOA eligibility are subject to time-in-grade. You must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade level to be eligible for promotion. You must submit SF50s with your application package to verify you held the next lower grade level for at least 52 weeks. You may need to submit two (2) or more SF50s. Examples of appropriate SF 50s include Promotion, Reg WRI, and SF 50s effective more than 52 weeks ago. The next lower grade level for this position is GS-04.
Current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest nontemporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment. Education
Education used to qualify for this position must be from an accredited school or educational institution recognized by the
