About the Position: Serves Secretary and Administrative Assistant to the Director and Deputy Director of the Directorate of Simulation (DoS) at U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence, located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Monitors, coordinates, executes and provides advice, guidance and assistance to the Directorate of Simulation staff on policies and procedures established within the office.
Maintains complete and current calendar of events for the Director and Deputy Director.
Processes all TDY travel, i.e., request for orders/leave, arrangements for airline tickets, country clearances and VISA requirements.
Types and prioritizes a variety of material to include briefings, reports, and spreadsheets for the Directorate.
Schedules in-house conferences and meetings in the local area.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative services and procedures such as maintaining supervisor's activities calendar; scheduling meetings, conferences, and video teleconferences, as required; utilizing automated system to maintain time and attendance records; making travel arrangements for staff; directing calls and visitors to appropriate office based upon knowledge of programs and operations; maintaining files and records of various types that may be needed or will assist in the efficient operation of the office AND ordering and maintaining office supplies and equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
