You will serve as a REGION INSPECTOR/INVESTIGATOR in the REGION OFFICE OF THE INSPECTOR GENERAL (OIG) of COMMANDER, NAVY REGION NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will evaluate cases relating to violations of laws, rules or regulations to check compliance with regulatory standards. You will lead investigative teams to evaluate allegations of fraud, waste, abuse and or mismanagement made against individuals. You will offer advice and guidance to senior and executive level management officials on the efficiency and effectiveness of operating programs. You will create written briefings to make recommendations for corrective action.

• This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualifications

For the GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Participating in an inspection program assessing compliance of Region and Installation programs with applicable regulations to detect deficiencies, improprieties, and inefficiencies; 2) Evaluating the extent of compliance with policies and procedures to deter fraud, waste, or mismanagement; 3) Assisting in the evaluation of strengths of internal controls within the organization in preparation of the development of Manager's Internal Control Certification Statement; 4) Preparing inspection reports detailing findings and recommendations for leadership; and 5) Providing guidance for installation staff on the execution of the Manager's Internal Control Program. For the GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting or supporting members of a team as an inspector, responding to investigations, command evaluation reviews, management control program, and/or external audits; 2) Assisting with or supporting coordinating schedules for command inspections or assist visits to subordinate activities; 3) Assisting with providing recommendations or feedback to staff/team members both orally and in writing pertaining to inspections, investigations, management control programs and audits. Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree
OR
