You will serve as a REGION INSPECTOR/INVESTIGATOR in the Inspector General Division of COMMANDER, NAVY REGION NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will assess compliance with regulatory requirements and effectiveness of ongoing operations to confirm the ability to accomplish the organization's mission. You will lead investigative teams to evaluate allegations made against individuals, organizations, or contractors or vendors. You will advise senior managers or supervisors within a command to offer direction on the implementation of the Management Internal Control (MIC) Program. You will document problems, deficiencies, violations of laws and regulations, orders, directives, or practices for compliance with requirements.

Qualifications

For the GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Participating in an inspection program that assess compliance of Region and Installation programs with applicable regulations to detect deficiencies, improprieties, and inefficiencies; 2) Evaluating the extent of compliance with policies and procedures to deter fraud, waste, or mismanagement; 3) Assisting in the evaluation of strengths of internal controls within the organization in preparation of the development of Manager's Internal Control Certification Statement; 4) Preparing inspection reports detailing findings and recommendations for leadership; and 5) Providing guidance for installation staff on the execution of the Manager's Internal Control Program. NOTE: Experience must be fully supported in your resume to be considered for this position. For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting or supporting members of a team as an inspector, responding to investigations, command evaluation reviews, management control program, and/or external audits; 2) Assisting with or supporting coordinating schedules for command inspections or assist visits to subordinate activities; 3) Assisting with or supporting with providing recommendations or feedback to staff/team members both orally and in writing pertaining to inspections, investigations, management control programs and audits.
