Duties
You will distribute and promote information related to USNA programs and policies to a variety of publics.
You will frequently escort media, authors and photographers during their visits to the Academy.
You will oversee USNA interactions with the public by implementing social media platforms content strategies.
You will perform preliminary analysis of available information to determine accuracy and suitability for use in written materials.
You will review social media posts for accuracy and content.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications
GS-09
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1)Evaluating the newsworthiness of written and visual materials for media and social media posts, programs, and campaigns. 2) Developing creative strategies for carrying out assignments effectively and/or building an online community. 3) Researching and drafting a variety of materials, including fact sheets, pitch letters, media advisories, news releases and feature stories designed for use in media campaigns. 4) Utilizing social media techniques and tools to ensure information is kept up to date. GS-07
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1)Distributing information to a variety of public media (e.g., press releases, email, phone calls, and personal contact) according to agency policies and regulations. 2) Responding to a variety of calls and emails from the general public requesting information. 3) Drafting a variety of materials, including fact sheets, pitch letters, media advisories, news releases and feature stories designed for use in media campaigns. 4) Utilizing social media techniques and tools to ensure information is kept up to date. Education
For GS-09: The following education may be substituted for specialized experience:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
For GS-07: The following education may be substituted for specialized experience:
1 full year of graduate level education
or
superior academic achievement
Possess a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.
