You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Public Affairs Office of NSA ANNAPOLIS.
Duties
You will plan and organize special events.
You will coordinate the plan, development and direction of an organization's participation in public events to satisfy the public interest in the organization and promote favorable relations between the organization and community.
You will interpret, adapt and prepare notices and instructions to implement public affair programs and provide guidance as necessary on their implementation.
You will Draft internal and external communication plans.
You will Display the knowledge and skills to brief Senior Leadership on their public affairs responsibilities and advise on ways to enhance and improve their programs.
You will Review and determine suitability/releasability of all public release materials prepared by members of the organization, to include articles, flyers, brochures, posters, video recordings and similar materials.
You will Coordinate photography and other AV products to use in attracting media coverage of the organization's events.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Coordinate internal and external media and community relations, in communication principles and techniques, as well as in interpersonal relationships; 2) Maintain relationships with the media and the community, conducting news briefings, meetings, orientations with community leaders and other elected officials; 3) Interpret and implement public affairs policies and regulations; 4) Provide remarks for Senior Leadership speaking engagements, as well as preparing public affairs-related correspondence, articles and answers public affairs related correspondence for Senior Leadership to include requests for information, interviews, and site visits; and 5) Maintain social media outlets (Facebook, twitter, etc...) with appropriate and timely information and material for presentation to the general public and the organization.
