You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Public Affairs Office at the U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY.

Duties

You will apply current techniques of publication and graphic design of print and digital multimedia products (including video) through proficient use of modern graphic design and photo editing software. You will prepare and maintain appropriate records of the work including printing requisitions, printing contracts, work schedules, deadlines and documentation required to maintain adequate controls on the publications process. You will direct graphic design process in projects involving multiple graphic designers. You will assist individuals and departments in creating their own designs by providing expertise and guidance, maintaining a standard and uniform style guide for colors, logos and fonts and making all common files available to academy staff.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing, designing, editing and preparing informational and promotional publications, and other digital, interactive and printed materials; 2) Coordinating techniques of publication and graphic design to print and digital multimedia products; 3) Plan and develop a variety of communication tools, including multimedia programs, for use on an organization's internal and external websites; and 4) Coordinating raster- and vector-based graphic design principles, page layout, web design and photo editing, including expertise in photo manipulation, illustration, and creation of design elements. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR
Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
