You will serve as a Supervisory IT Specialist (Policy & Planning) in the Policy and Planning Branch (109.31), Information Strategies Division, Information Technology and Cyber Security Office, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, ME
Duties
You will provide IT and NMCI/NGEN contract management, IT planning and budget development, inventory management, IT procurement, and management of telecommunication devices.
You will ensure rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of IT systems and capabilities and assess security events to determine impact and implement corrective action.
You will conduct risk and vulnerability assessments on installed and planned IT systems.
You will communicate details of new or changing IT initiatives to other departments to ensure they are informed of potential impact or improvements to capabilities in performing mission critical work.
You will conduct studies of management objectives, verify IT applicability, and prepare technical reports recommending the most effective systems approach to ensure the highest benefit to the command.
You will assign work, provide technical guidance, personnel management, performance management, position management, oversee training, recommend promotions, approve leave, recommend awards, resolve disciplinary issues, and administer EEO policies.

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE:
Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. Creditable specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience performing IT/IM strategic planning; financial, budget, workforce and capital planning; resource management; architecture and infrastructure planning; and information security management.
Experience with state-of-the-art development techniques, productivity improvement tools, user-friendly software, application and report generator programs, utility software, database management systems and equipment technology to identify methods and software that are applicable to the desired management objectives.
Experience with information assurance, security concepts, standards and methods to develop and interpret policies and requirements to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems, networks and data.
Experience performing supervisory duties such as assigning and prioritizing work; providing technical guidance, personnel, performance and position management; identifying training needs; interviewing/selecting candidates for vacancies; recommending promotions and awards; resolving disciplinary issues and administering EEO policies.
