Duties
You will formulate plans, implement techniques and develop a broad base of strategies and procedures necessary to conduct the Navy's natural resources conservation and management process.
You will develop and implement management plans for non-native and invasive species.
You will design and coordinate native and non-native species surveys.
You will design and manage periodic and final inspection of all natural resources management projects associated with the military location.
You will provide and review technical specification and requirements for inclusion in the initial contract and/or subsequent revisions.

- This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
- May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
- You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector formulating plans and developing a broad base of strategies and procedures for natural resources conservation and management; developing and implementing the Regional Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMP); providing professional advice on management of terrestrial natural resources, threatened and endangered species, non-native and invasive species matters pertaining to terrestrial organisms, and ungulate eradication and management; AND performing a variety of duties involving the management, coordination, monitoring, oversight, or evaluation of natural resources programs, projects, and activities.

Education
Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
