This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), Division of Ambulatory Payment Models (DAPM).
As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist (Deputy Director), GS-0107-14, you will serve as Deputy Director of the Division of Ambulatory Payment Models, responsible for the implementation of alternative payment models and representing CMS in discussion with stakeholders.
Duties
With the Director, plan the overall workload distribution, set priorities, and prepare schedules for completion to assure the timely, accurate, and successful completion of planning, development, and implementation of alternative payment models
Formulate analytic questions and review quantitative and qualitative data and analyses related to model design and also adjustments made during implementation.
Serve as a liaison to model participants, including physician group practices, hospital outpatient departments, other
model participants, and other payers, providing technical assistance on alternative payment model requirements.
Provide senior leadership to model teams and manages the development of models design parameters and reviews models implementation progress.
Represent the Director at meetings and on external or internal task forces or working groups, and assemble and direct teams or task forces for the duration of special assignments or projects.

In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Analyzing policies to determine the impact on program operations; AND 2) Collaborating with teams and a range of stakeholders on model development and implementation; AND 3) Developing or implementing alternative payment models to achieve better care or lower costs for beneficiaries of a health insurance program.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
