About the Position: This position serves as Motor Vehicle Dispatcher in the Transportation Motor Pool (TMP) located at the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) on Joint Base Myer Henderson Hall, Fort Myer, VA. Fort Myer, VA. With its location adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery, This is a TERM position not to exceed 13 months. This is a reannouncement of Announcement # NCAS233724812898D. Duties

Responsibilities include utilization, scheduling vehicles for maintenance, and vehicle walk around safety inspections and inventory control of all assigned GSA non-tactical vehicles. Works with Transportation Specialist to reconcile monthly GSA fleet billings and assists to resolve billing discrepancies through communications with the area GSA-Fleet Representative. Respond to tenant units requesting use of the installation vehicle wash facility. Operates the vehicle wash facility. Schedule appointments to obtain vehicle repair estimates Schedules and dispatches vehicles (i.e., sedans, vans, buses, and trucks) to accommodate requests for transportation services submitted by activities. Prepares reports for monthly billing of GSA non-tactical vehicles and Army Own Vehicles and Equipment

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government drivers license.
  • Must be able to obtain certification in Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) dispatching system within six months of appointment into the position.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Must meet minimum typing requirements of 40 words per minute (WPM).
  • This is a TERM position not to exceed (NTE) 13 months.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service which includes Ability to identify vehicle characteristics such as load capacity; Knowledge and application of regulations and policies governing the dispatch of vehicles; Familiar with vehicle classes to assure the proper vehicle is dispatched for the job and utilization of automated receipt, scheduling and dispatch systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Failure to meet this requirement will result in loss of consideration for this position.
