About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at historic Fort Liberty in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Fort Liberty is the home of the national premiere Special Operations and Airborne Forces.

Duties

This position is located at historic Fort Liberty in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Fort Liberty is the home of the national premiere Special Operations and Airborne Forces. Ensures effective joint staff management practices and procedures. Develops specialized ISM support concepts. Conducts specialized, multi-disciplined threat assessments planning and development. Serves as a Class "A" Custodian for Special Mission Funds. Serves as a senior ISM advisor and subject matter expert. Maintain liaison contact and staff coordination with national-level intelligence.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and selected Special Access Programs.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time to various CONUS and OCONUS locations. This may require travel on military aircraft, ships and vehicles.
  • Subject to short notice recall. Must reside within normal commuting distance of Fort Liberty. (50 miles).
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete counter-intelligence scope polygraph with No Deception Indicated (NDI).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a vehicle operator's license to drive military and civilian vehicles.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11). Progressively responsible experience which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
