You will serve as a WELDER in the Welding Shop (TRF-3140) Shop 26A, Hull Division (TRF-310), Repair Department (TRF-300) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will plan and lay out welding and any associated cutting, fitting, etc. work from specifications and oral instructions. You will weld all types of commonly used metals and alloys of various sizes, shapes and thicknesses. You will conduct routine maintenance of welding and related equipment. You will clean and store equipment. You will perform quality control coordination task required to ensure quality of products/services resulting from work performed.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • A pre-employment physical is required.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position may requires overtime, shift, holiday, evening and weekend work.

To qualify for the Welder, WG-3703-11 position, do you have the ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision such as: (1) Performing shop and shipboard welding, (2) Setting up welding equipment for fabrication of piping assembly, piping and valve replacement of ships and/or submarines; (3) Coordinating and performing NDT and Radiographic welding ensuring quality assurance; (4) Setting up, adjusting and using cutting equipment, inert gas purges and operating purge gas analyzers and control equipment. To qualify for the Welder, WG-3703-10 position, do you have the ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision such as: (1) Assisting with welding and setting up welding equipment for fabrication of piping assembly, piping and valve replacement; (2) Assisting with coordinating NDT and Radiographic welding inspections while assuring quality assurance; (3) Assisting with setting up, adjusting and using cutting equipment.
