As a Program Analyst in the Deputy Chief Financial Officer for Resources organization, you will provide evaluations to management of the effectiveness of the program and/or area of responsibility in support of programs and projects such as Commercial Crew, Launch Services, Exploration Ground Systems, Institutional Projects, Project Integration, and Spaceport Management.
Duties
Analyzes budgetary performance against plans and evaluates variances to provide recommendations; analyzes budgetary performance of programs and projects as part of budget execution activities.
Provides data management and analysis for studies and maintains assigned projects. Uses data sources to identify programmatic needs.
Communicates and provides operations expertise in support of the NASA mission.
Participates in strategic planning with regards to program development.
Develops and/or assists with program and/or management assessments ensuring programmatic and/or management goals are well documented.
Creates and/or recommends new budget strategies to effectively execute program objectives and goals.
Performs data validation to ensure compliance to financial policy and procedure.
Analyzes internal operations, reports on analytical findings, and analyzes programs and projects budgetary requirements to integrate into budget formulation activities.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level
Preparing and executing program budgets to include using data sources to identify financial needs and create financial reports;
Communicating budget status to customers and management, proposing changes, and participating in negotiations to resolve disputed recommendations;
Developing annual business plans by analyzing trends and developing recommendations to address upcoming
issues and challenges.
