THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, Position Description Number D0483000 and is part of the CO AASF, National Guard.
Duties
Perform inspections, functional checks, and preventive maintenance on assigned aircraft to include pre-inspection, daily inspection, pre- and post-flight inspections and such special inspections as required, including fuel contamination checks, oil sampling, an inspection of onboard emergency equipment. Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and performs unscheduled maintenance on assigned and transient aircraft. May be required to perform such additional duties as fire fighting, aircraft crash/rescue, snow removal, etc. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Membership in the Colorado Army National Guard or eligible to transfer.
- Must hold the grade of E-3 thru E-7.
- Compatible Military Assignment: 15T MOS.
- Submit all required documentation.
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification.
2. Experience coordinating work with other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow.
3. Experience instructing lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in aircraft maintenance procedures, technical aspects of aircraft systems, and safety practices.
4. Experience working independently, applying proper judgement determining maintenance procedures, having a comprehensive understanding of technical manuals as well as aircraft forms and records.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
