THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D0806000 and is part of the CO 140th MXS, National Guard.
The purpose of this position is to provide overall direction and coordination of the subordinate work activities and functions.
Duties
Plans the overall allocation of personnel and other resources to the organizational segments supervised to accomplish work operations which, because of their scope, volume, and complexity, must be planned on a quarterly or longer basis. Coordinates and directs the work of units supervised. Assigns and explains work requirements to subordinate supervisors and sets deadlines. Recommends promotion or reassignment of subordinate supervisors and reviews personnel actions prepared by them. Makes formal appraisal of supervisors' work performance and reviews employee appraisals submitted by them. Implements safety regulatory requirements. Ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Membership in the Colorado Air National Guard or eligible to transfer.
- Must hold the grade of E-7 promotable or E-8.
- Compatible Military Assignment: 2AXXX or 2WXXX AFSC.

Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification.
2. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow.
3. Experience instructing lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.
4. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel.
5. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines.
6. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes.
7. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
