THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D0736000 and is part of the CO 140th MXS, National Guard.
The purpose of this position is to provide overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions which, because of their scope, volume and complexity are carried out by two or more organizational segments and layers, possibly during two or more shifts.
Duties
Plans the overall allocation of personnel and other resources to the organizational segments supervised to accomplish work operations which, because of their scope, volume, and complexity, must be planned on a yearly or longer basis. Explains work requirements to subordinate levels of supervision, sets deadlines and sequence of operations. Recommends promotion or reassignment of subordinate supervisors and reviews personnel actions prepared by them. Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Membership in the Colorado Air National Guard or eligible to transfer or re-enlist.
- Must hold the grade of E-8 promotable or E-9.
- Compatible Military Assignment: 2AXXX or 2WXXX AFSC.

Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience performing duties as a dedicated crew chief.
2. Experience performing, coordinating, and/or overseeing the work and any periodic inspections to be done on an aircraft whether it is alone, or with the assistance of other mechanics and/or workers.
3. Experience coordinating the work of other journey-level workers in other trades to work simultaneously on the aircraft.
4. Experience serving as the technical authority to advise on, examine, and approve all airframe, mechanical, electrical, and pneudraulic repairs of assigned aircraft.
5. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel.
6. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines.
7. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
