THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D0734000 and is part of the CO 140th MXS, National Guard.
The purpose of this position is to supervise workers, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders and/or supervisors, in accomplishing the operations of a distinct organizational unit and to perform associated nonsupervisory work.
Duties
Planning: Plans weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations.
Work Direction: Assigns tasks to be performed. Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures.
Administration: Recommends and participates in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies.
Performs the nonsupervisory work of the function as needed. Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Must be a current member of the Colorado Air National Guard or eligible to transfer into the COANG.
- Must hold the grade of E-7 or E-8.
- Compatible Military Assignment: 2A3X3 AFSC.

Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification.
2. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow.
3. Experience instructing lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.
4. Experience in the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel.
5. Experience reviewing work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines.
6. Experience in the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
