This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the PROFESSIONAL Work Category at the FULL PERFORMANCE Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA Host & Compute Operations Office.

Duties

Performs storage management activities that involve all aspects of NetBackup Enterprise Server in the UNIX and Windows compatible environments across a number of domains. Monitors existing and projected systems utilization and workload capacity and reports on resource trends and conducts technical and diagnostic analysis of systems and executive systems to determine the cause of system abnormalities. Participates in the development of Request for Proposals (RFPs) for the acquisition or replacement of storage hardware, related software, and services. Researches specific trends to identify areas for enhancing software or hardware parameters improving performance. Proposes and develops new policies, practices, and methods required for adapting to the changing operating environment. Assesses the effectiveness of scheduling, administration, and implementation of all data storage management systems, formulating technical refreshes, resource utilization, and customer requirements across the EBN and the Storage Area Network (SAN).

• Subject to recall or call back during off shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and may be subject to varying work shifts and work shift rotations for mission support requirement of 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
• IA Certification is required within six months of assignment of IA duties.
• This position is designated as MISSION ESSENTIAL.
• This is a drug test designated position.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as experience providing assistance concerning administration, installation, security and maintenance support to SQL Databases and systems both on-prem and in Microsoft AZURE cloud computing and providing technical guidance for SQL database administration utilizing clusters and SQL availability clusters including failover testing. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GG-12 grade level.
