Duties
Develop educational, technical and promotional materials to be integrated into the safety education and promotion programs.
Investigate military and civilian personnel injuries, occupational illnesses, Army Motor Vehicle accidents, material and property damage incidents and fires and explosions.
Determine unsafe methods, acts, equipment or material and makes recommendations for correction.
Serve as organization Hazard Communications Program Specialist.
Assist Safety and Occupational Health Manager in overall program administration.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Temporary Duty (TDY), approximately 15% of the time.
- May be required to complete a one year trial period.

GS-09: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work of this job. Specialized experience is defined as: work which involves developing and recommending safety and occupational health policy to higher levels of management, applying safety and occupational health laws, regulations, and procedures to advise on or resolve technical matters dealing requirements assisting in analyzing or evaluating new and existing jobs, processes and/or other systems to determine the existence, severity, probability and outcome of hazards using software to draft reports, prepare charts and graphs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
GS-11: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work of this job. Specialized experience is defined as: developing safety and occupational health standards, regulations, practices, and procedures to eliminate or control potential hazards; apply safety and occupational health laws, regulations, principles, theories, practices, and procedures to advise on or resolve technical matters dealing with occupational safety and health requirements; Manage safety or occupational health program elements and investigate compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education
