This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Financial Management Experts to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serves as a Funds Management Technician (Office Automation) with US Army Medical Center of Excellence located Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas.
Duties
Prepares fund citation letters, maintain student information, and upload pertinent information into the General Fund Enterprise Business System.
Compiles and summarizes cost estimate data with actual costs by querying databases, researching documentation, and resolving discrepancies.
Assists analyst in preparing annual budget requirements by gathering and compiling data received from managers.
Consolidates, organizes, and summarizes complex data for inclusion in the accounting system and in required status of funds reports from a variety of source documents.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain and Secret Clearance.
- THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 1 Certified position. Incumbent is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.
Qualifications

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing budgetary documents for compliance with regulations; preparing budget reports from statistical data; reconciling accounts in support of funding programs and budget planning; using automated systems such as word processing, spreadsheet and database software to develop methods for automating reports; applying rules and regulations to perform a full range of tasks involving budget and clerical support. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
