About the Position: This position is located at the 43D AG BN/at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

Screen military personnel records of incoming recruits to ensure all required documentation is present. Reassemble military personnel records in the required format. Provide assistance on unusual problems or those unresponsive to normal corrective measures. Review completed work for accuracy. Utilize office automation/computer equipment to key in data from a variety of sources (i.e., records, forms, rosters, etc.).

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Work is subject to rotating shifts and/or irregular tour of duty to include weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • This position is the night shift (2100-0730) with frequent potential for overtime.
  • The employee may be required to work overtime to include weekends and federal holidays, out of cycle, or on an emergency basis.

OR Education: Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer LiteracyManages and Organizes InformationPersonnel Action Processing and Recordkeeping Time in Grade Requirement: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non temporary competitive appointment.
