The position(s) covered by this vacancy announcement is in the Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). For more information please see: AcqDemo This position is part of the DoD, Missile Defense Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for working as a Program Analyst in support of Senior Acquisition Analysts with providing recommendations to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) leadership.

Duties

This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated October 15, 2021. As a Program Analyst at the NH-0343-3 some of your typical work assignments may include: - Assisting Senior Acquisition Program Analysts with assignments related to acquisition and/or program cost, schedule and performance across the Missile Defense System. Preparing materials related to acquisition policy, planning and assessment across the Missile Defense System. This will require comparison of actual program developments against approved plans and baselines to identify potential/actual issues. Assisting leadership in coordinating and identifying near-term and long-term program requirements to ensure that Missile Defense System Programs meet mission objectives. Assist with the execution of inter-agency acquisitions as required with Other Government Agencies and support the review of services.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the NH-03 broadband level , if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Experience using verbal and written communication skills in researching, planning, coordinating and developing, written programmatic presentations and reports. OR Experience using verbal and written communication skills in researching, planning, coordinating, and developing written programmatic presentations and reports. OR Experience with collaborating and building relationships with technical subject matter experts and stakeholders pertaining to program requirements and acquisition reviews. OR Experience understanding policies, regulations, and precedents in order to analyze and resolve programmatic issues, involving risk, cost, schedule and performance with a proactive and creative approach in problem solving and development of innovative solutions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
