You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (OPERATING SYSTEM) of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.

Duties

You will analyze performance and event management indicators and makes configuration changes to optimize and improve functionality of IT services and information systems. You will conduct database system performance monitoring and management of system events to ensure the availability of database services. You will work complex projects and tasks for implementing new technologies into the current environment while insuring interoperability of dependent IT services and information systems. You will create and maintain system documentation in accordance with DoD security policies and standards in support of regional managed systems and applications.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting analysis and developing solutions to resolve complex issues affecting IT services; installing and managing database systems; AND makes configuration changes to optimize and improve functionality of IT services and information systems. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in developing solutions to resolve complex issues affecting IT services; installing and managing database systems; AND makes configuration changes to optimize and improve functionality of IT services and information systems. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in the installation and management of database systems; AND making configuration changes to optimize and improve functionality of IT services and information systems. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
