About the Position: This position serves as a Supervisory Requirements Branch Chief for the Requirements Branch, Requirements Development Division (RDD) of the Capabilities, Development and Integration Directorate (CDID), Fires Center of Excellence (FCoE), located at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Duties
Primary duty is to write and staff requirements documents supporting new FA and ADA acquisition programs in accordance with the JCIDS manual.
Establishes and promulgates proponent guidance concerning the JCIDS process.
Plans, monitors, reviews, and assesses studies, analyses, field tests, evaluations and experiments relative to assigned FA and ADA systems.
Supervises the preparation of and presents information and decision briefings to the commanding general and other senior leadership at, CDID, FCoE, FCC, AFC, HQDA staffs, TRADOC, and Army Commanders.
Duties in this capacity include, but are not limited to: planning and assigning work; resolving workload and priority problems; interviewing and making selections for subordinate positions.
Evaluates program documentation to ascertain program policy compliance and program eligibility to progress through the major milestone reviews and decision points.
Responsible for developing, coordinating, synchronizing, and prioritizing staff actions in conjunction with CDID and FCoE requirements documentation.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty travel is required up to 30% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes the following: 1. Prepare requirements documentation from inception through the various milestone requirements of the JCIDS process; 2. Utilize Field Artillery (FA) and Air Defense Artillery (ADA) knowledge to determine operational concepts requirements and shortfalls; 3. Use qualitative and quantitative methods to assess effectiveness and long-range programs related to Fires; and 4. Prepare recommended actions and responses for FA and ADA complex issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-13.
