This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
The position is located with the US ARMY COMBAT CAPABILITIES DEV CMD SOLDIER CENTER SOLDIER PROTECTION DIRECTORATE PROTECTION MATERIALS DIVISION OFFICE OF DIVISION CHIEF (PMD)
May be extended up to a maximum of 6 years.
May be made permanent without further competition.
Duties
Support Protection Division Chief and staff five Branch Chiefs with day-to-day operations of the Division.
Support program management activities for science and technology programs to include support to resource planning and tracking, and execution of program business functions.
Serve as analysts and advisors to management on the evaluation of the effectiveness of government programs and operations.
Perform journey level functions in the business or administrative fields (e.g., finance, resource management, logistics, or planning).
Applying basic budgetary and financial management principles and techniques as they relate to planning and monitoring of programs and objectives.
Appling evaluative methods to assess programs development or execution to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
- Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level Practitioner in the Acquisition Career Field- Program Management within 24 months of entrance on duty.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Basic Requirements:
Education: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree

OR
General Experience: 3 years, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4I have one year of general experience equivalent to the GS-04/DE-01 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service that includes: 1) Performing journey level functions in the business or administrative fields such as finance, resource management, logistics or planning. 2) Applying basic budgetary and financial management principles and techniques to long rang planning of programs and objectives. 3) Presenting findings and results, in writing or orally for higher-level review or publication.
