You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the Lab & Facility Operations Division, Lab Systems Operations Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will set technical requirements and external interface hardware and software and is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the network infrastructure stays at the leading edge of classified and unclassified information technology. You will identify NAVAIR's technical customer base, interacts with prospective test planners on a regular basis, and provides in-depth infrastructure/network data as required. You will serve as a technical expert in the field of network architectures to support real-time simulation. You will identify fleet and test and evaluation high fidelity simulation and network needs, create program proposals, and successfully acquire users for the RDTE computing network.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11/12 grade level or DS-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying Linux experience with operating systems, such as: RHEL 7, 8, or 9; 2) Configuring and managing protocols and services on Red Hat, such as: Berkeley Internet Name Domain (BIND), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Apache web server, MySQL, Maria, and Postgress; 3) Performing vulnerability assessments and mitigations; and 4) Monitoring systems/networks and resolving complex issues in software and hardware.
