You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER in the Nuclear Material Division, Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department, of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will receive, store and issue materials and supplies. You will maintain inventory accuracy and location validity. You will be responsible for ascertaining that assigned storage areas are maintained in accordance with regulations governing the storage of nuclear material. You will direct shipment carriers to the most convenient offloading sites. You will research and resolve material problems. You will ensure material is safeguarded against damage or loss during transportation or movement.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
