You will serve as a Materials Handler Leader in the Operations Department, Logistics Support Center (431)of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR PUGET SOUND.

Duties

You will lead work in trans-shipment of Depot Level Repairable (DLR) items and receipt, refurbishment, and issue of DLR containers.. You will establish priorities to ensure that Advanced Traceability and Control (ATAC) and Container Reuse and Refurbishment Center (CRRC) work supports customer requirements. You will check work in progress and upon completion to ensure compliance with safety procedures, governing directives, and deadlines. You will conduct periodic physical inventories and updates the CRRC website to reflect current quantities of containers in Condition Codes A, D, F, H, and M. You will research transaction histories and confers with warehouse personnel to determine cause(s) of gains/losses. You will serve as the central point of contact for exchange of information and problem resolution.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current forklift license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE. ???????An example of the screen out element is: I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks on my own initiative including schedule and assign work; ensure needed materials and supplies are available; check work in progress and upon completion; provide guidance and training to lower graded material handlers; conduct periodic physical inventories and update the Container Reuse and Refurbishment Center (CRRC) website to reflect current quantities of containers; research transaction histories and confer with warehouse personnel to determine cause of gains/losses; Determine containers to be refurbished and maintain a container refurbishment schedule; Maintain stock of repair parts (latches and foam) and consumable items required to repair or refurbish containers; prepare reorder requests; determine appropriate container and acceptable substitutes using CRRC website based on customer's Depot Lever Repairable (DLR) packaging requirements; Advise customers on stock availability and monitor the repair/refurbishment schedule to ensure containers are available to meet deadlines; Receive DLRs and DLR containers, inspect, clean and place them in appropriate storage locations and annotating receipt paperwork with material quantity and condition; removes and replace worn, torn, or broken foam, hinges, or fasteners and complete time and material reports; operate a forklift up to 10,000 lbs. capacity to load/offload and move material.
