About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Risk Manager in administrating Womack Army Medical Center's (WAMC) Risk Management (RM) Program. The incumbent manages data and risk management information to analyze risk and make improvements for the department.

Duties

Collect required risk management information to the Centralized Credentials Quality Assurance System (CCQAS) from a variety of sources. Assist with analyzing risk management information for trends and areas for improvement. Receive telephone calls and visitors of the office, ascertaining the nature of requests and directing callers to appropriate staff. Assists in conducting risk assessments of various areas throughout the facility.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing office automation software and/or healthcare automated systems to enter and retrieve data for reports, files, or correspondence; assisting with reviewing risk management information within a medical treatment facility for trends to improve processes; transcribing or completing meeting minutes for an organization; and greeting guest both telephonically and in person to decern the nature of the request to direct to appropriate personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as business administration, quality assurance, healthcare administration, organizational management, public health, or healthcare management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Manages and Organizes InformationTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
