The position is located at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC), which reports under the Deputy Chief of Staff and aligned under the Office of Integrated Veteran Care (OIVC). Reports directly to the OIVC Deputy Business Manager or designated manager.
Duties
Handles issues related to provider education and coordination of OIVC network enrollment.
Provide administrative guidance and assistance to community providers to include but not limited to conducting education training sessions, interpreting administrative policies, defining administrative requirements and providing support and input.
Assist with the development of the OIVC provider network and development performance management tracking tools.
Extract, analyze, and compile data to assess community provider availability.
Apply new polices, provide input on requirements, maintain administrative systems, and prepare administrative correspondence.
Build a network of prospective referral sources and partnerships for OIVC.
Provide education, training, and answer community provider questions on Health Share Referral Manager.
Conduct daily monitoring of scheduling management, care coordination, and analysis of OICE programs.
Process provider vendorization documents.
Participate in the development of Community Care strategic short- and long-range planning.
Required to use a wide variety of reporting databases and office automation computer software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Desktop Publishing, Outlook).
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, subject to change based on the needs of the Agency.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/17/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of Office of Integrated Veteran Care (OIVC) program, functions and processes; Skill in researching and interpreting policy; Tracking, extracting, analyzing and compiling data; Customer service; Ability to adhere to policy and guidelines; Ability to network and create Vendor relationships; Ability identify problems and recommend solutions; using automated programs such as Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel programs). Note: This experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary. Some standing, bending and light lifting, under 15 pounds, lighting carrying under 15 pounds, items such as books, laptop, cell phone, medical records and paper may be required. Due to the nature of the work, the position may encounter veteran patients who are confused, intoxicated or have a contagious disease condition. Must have both eyes, hearing (aid permitted), use of fingers, both hands required, ability to drive a car and have a valid state license is required. Position often places the position in a position of stress. Frequent travel is required throughout the Houston surrounding area locations and Houston catchment area and will involve driving via station vehicle. The work performed is a precise nature requiring long periods of concentration that is often interrupted. Incumbent as often faced with changing priorities and meeting deadlines.
