You will serve as a PROGRAM OPERATIONS SUPPORT ASSISTANT (OA) in the Training Air Wing ONE Department of TRARON NINE. As a Program Operations Support Assistant (OA) you will be responsible for providing clerical support to Military personnel. Serving as the critical link between the military member, the command, and the supporting Personnel Support Detachment.

Duties

You will utilize automated software from multiple resources, in generating reports and briefing materials for the command. You will provide administrative support to a department within the Training Air Wing or Training Squadron maintaining records, preparing correspondence and documents. You will maintain Government travel credit cards (GTCC) accounts for all Uniformed and Civilian Staff and assigned Student Aviators. You will update command rosters and telephone directories, perform mail delivery/pickup and distribution. You will serve as the as the Command Pay and Personnel Administrator (CPPA), processing a number of personnel transactions for Military personnel. You will review or approve travel vouchers to ensure the accuracy of submissions as required by governing instructions.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizing automated systems and databases to perform administrative duties (e.g data input, customer service, correspondence) to meet an organizations policies and procedures for the support of a command or departments mission and goals. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of at least Four full academic years of education above high school.
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
