This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U. S. Coast Guard, Deputy Commandant for Operations, CYBER Command, Assessment and Authorization (A&A) Department, Alexandria, VA.
Duties
You will serve as the Deputy of the A&A Department, Coast Guard Cyber Command, responsible for the day-to-day operations and independently perform duties to manage, plan, develop, initiate, carry out, and assess critical cybersecurity operations in support of the mission.Followed with bullets: Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. - U.S. Citizenship is required.

Qualifications
Qualifications for GS-14: At least one year of specialized work experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level is required. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples include work in IT Cybersecurity such as: Making improvements, solving problems, or taking corrective action when problems arise; Recommending improvements or solutions to problems, or determining appropriate actions; Identifying or anticipating needs or problems; Promoting or developing and maintaining good working relationships with key individuals or groups; Providing expert technical advice or assistance to others; Giving presentations or briefings; Managing and resolving conflicts, grievances, confrontations, or disagreements in a constructive manner to minimize negative personal impact.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
This position requires an Information Assurance Management (IAM) level 3 certification.
