Duties

Lead and support the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) Helpdesk. Support critical missions of General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) and Defense Cash Accountability System (DCAS). Experience with automated data processing systems as they apply to accounting feeder systems in order to effectively and logically solve program/system problems. Ensures that internal controls for procedures are operating properly in accordance with regulation and requirements. Applying initiative, originality, inventiveness, and resourcefulness in conceptualizing and designing/modifying accounting and reporting systems. Determining impact of proposed and actual changes on current operations, regulations, policies, procedures, and internal controls and recommends improvements in efficiency and effectiveness. Prepares system change request or takes other corrective actions for modifications to improve operations.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Special experience is defined as experience applying and advising on financial/accounting systems policies and procedures; reviewing systems change requests or software requirements documentation; documenting, analyzing or testing internal controls in financial processes or systems; supporting Help Desk operation to resolve issues on various financial systems such as General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS). Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
