About the Position: This position is located at the Directorate of Human Resources at Ft Leonard Wood. Ft. Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

Analyze military personnel assignments. Monitor, input, correct and maintain trainee status data on holdover, inactive ad graduate data. Perform final review of reports submitted by training brigades. Coordinate personnel actions with commanders, first sergeants, service member, Staff Judge Advocate and Provost Marshal. Enter and/or validates data n automated systems. Prepare correspondence, reports and other documents in draft and final form.

Requirements

  • Employee may be required to work overtime.
  • Employee must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying human resources Military rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for processing personnel actions; and performing briefs and preparing reports on strength of personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Human Resources Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Human Resources Technology UsageOral CommunicationPersonnel Action Processing and RecordkeepingReasoning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcements.
