You will serve as a FIREFIGHTER (BLS/HAZMAT TECHNICIAN) in the FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES of NAVAL AIR STATION.
Duties
You will perform emergency procedures established within the scope of practice and protocols for an EMT.
You will assist in reducing and/or eliminating potential fire hazards to protect persons, property, or the environment following established Navy procedures and protocols.
You will employ hazardous materials response procedure and equipment to mitigate hazardous materials incidents.
You will drive a firefighting vehicle (e.g., pumper, aerial, ladder truck, rescue truck brush truck, quick-attack vehicle, airport rescue fire fighting vehicle to the scene of a fire.

Qualifications
***This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I & II, Airport Firefighter, HAZMAT Technician, National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) certification, Driver/Operator Pumper and Driver Operator ARFF (Airport Rescue Fire Fighting). Driver/Operator Aerial will be a requirement. These certifications must have been awarded by National Registry, DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department/brigade; 2) Performing rescue operations; 3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Controlling hazardous materials incidents; 5) Driving and operating firefighting vehicles; and 6) Performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures.
