You will serve as a IT Specialist (INFOSEC) in the Information Assurance team (N65), of FLT NUMER OCEANGPHY METEO CTR.

Duties

You will serve as an IA Officer for FNMOC?s computing and/or network environment(s). You will compute and analyze intrusion detection, security incident handling and site Certification and Accreditation, and ensure compliance with all lA VM/CTO notifications. You will conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems, and identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs. You will evaluate and make recommendations on acquisition, implementation, and dissemination of lA security tools, procedures, and practices. You will plan and conduct security accreditation reviews for installed systems and networks. You will participate in the gathering, analysis, and preservation of forensic evidence. You will participate in network and system design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies. You will apply information security principles, policies, and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data. You will provide the full range of duties required to evaluate, administer, and disseminating software, new security tools, guidances, procedures, practices and training for end users at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience and knowledge needed by the incumbent consist of a variety of duties that involve many different and unrelated processes and methods pertinent to the IT field such as: the use of Windows scripts and processes, communication software, office productivity software and Windows operating systems, PKI authentication software, scanning, and TCP/IP networking. Experience and mastery skills in applying system security certification and accreditation requirements and processes sufficient to certify integrate information systems security with other security disciplines, certify systems accreditation and sufficient depth to implement a well-defined security policies. Experience with IT security assessment and authorization requirements, and the independent comprehensive assessments of the management, operational, and technical security controls employed within Risk Management Framework. Experience and knowledge of INFOSEC policies/administrative procedures, countermeasures/safeguard and risk management relating to access control, administrative and audit controls. Experience and knowledge of DoN INFOSEC regulations, policies and guidelines required to describe and apply the appropriate actions to be taken to manage and administer the Information Systems (IS)s' identification and authentication mechanisms in a secure manner. Experience and in-depth knowledge of Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems, Federal IS security protocols, security incident handling are pluses. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
