You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the Quality Assurance Department of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Duties
You will execute reviews, surveillances, and audits to evaluate technical and administrative operations conformance to procedural, technical, and quality assurance requirements.
You will use statistical analysis techniques and causal analysis to evaluate effectiveness of production processes and inspection systems, detect trends, and identify areas for improvement.
You will review material certification, inspection, and test results of production, inspection personnel, or contractors to ensure
technical adequacy and compliance with technical requirements.
You will develop and maintain procedures or training for quality assurance programs.
You will obtain information from databases, technical requirement documents, and other systems; maintain and retrieve
historical records; and input data into record systems.
You will prepare instructions, procedures, policies, and practices from complex or conflicting higher-level documents to ensure requirements are fulfilled and properly maintained.
You will provide and receive technical advice to resolve conflicts dealing with the performance of quality operations or training.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

This program is designed to provide Department of Navy employees career growth opportunities who have potential but do not presently meet the Office of Personnel Management qualification requirements for this position. The entry level for this position is GS-09 with a full performance level of GS-11.
Knowledge of employees selected may vary and will require the development of an individually tailored training plan to assist them in qualifying for the full performance level of this position. Eligibility requires that the employee be performing satisfactorily, complete all training requirements, acquire the requisite qualifications and have met time-in-grade eligibility for career ladder promotions.
This recruitment is open to all applicants at the GS-07 (or higher) grade level, or equivalent.
