About the Position: Fort Bragg is known as the "Home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces." It is a culturally diverse area with both rural and city populations and is co-located at Fayetteville, NC. It is centrally located just hours away from the beautiful beaches of North Carolina and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains. Fayetteville Regional Airport is located 12 miles outside of Fort Bragg's gates and Raleigh-Durham International Airport is 70 miles away.
Duties
Provide operational support to management on a variety of personnel procedures and policies pertaining to recruitments, position management, and civilian leave and pay.
Serve as the alternate DPW liaison with Civilian Pay and alternate Directorate Super User.
Coordinate with civilian personnel management to resolve personnel issues.
Track and maintain the status of all personnel action to ensure requests are addressed timely.
Advise and assist supervisors/employees on civilian pay/leave matters.
Assist supervisors and managers with FECA and Workers Compensation policies and methods to accommodate employees injured on the job.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
- This position has Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position may be subject to a one-year probationary period, if not previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Provide administrative support utilizing administrative concepts, principles, and practices; and (2) Prepare various documents, correspondence and reports; and (3) proficiency in automated systems such as Defense Civilian Personnel Data System Portal (DCPDS), Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS), and Automated Time Attendance and Production System (ATAAPS) and (4) Communicate with individuals on various levels through oral and written communication. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
