This position is located in the Division of Finance (DOF) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and participates in accomplishing the mission of the Assessments function of the Treasury Branch of the DOF. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Duties

Performs, with limited supervision, the analysis/verification of assessment-related Call Report data, including assessment compliance reviews of mid- to large-size regional banking organizations. Prepares/reviews drafts of policies, procedures, management reports, correspondence, and assessment compliance reviews. Interacts with senior staff of mid- and large-size regional banking organizations. Holds meetings with senior management of the banking organization. Employs tact and diplomacy in addressing and resolving the less controversial and/or sensitive assessment issues. Supports Corporate programs providing information, guidance, and training related to deposit insurance assessment processes, procedures, and assessment compliance review findings, to personnel of the Corporation, banking organizations, and others involved with the assessment program. Serves as a work team leader on assigned assessment projects. Directs less senior personnel in meeting Section goals and objectives to support the goals and objectives of the Assessments functional area and the Division of Finance.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 11 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience in supporting assessment programs including: (1) supporting an online financial reporting system and secure payment systems for insurance premiums and other fees from financial institutions; (2) identifying and reviewing management business needs; and (3) communicating, orally and in writing to assist clients with understanding system data and with business and technical issues on reports and queries. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
