This position is located at the Rosebud Hospital in Rosebud, South Dakota. The purpose of the position is to perform medical records technician duties in support of the Health Information Management department.
Duties
Processes routine requests for Release of Information (ROI) that present in-person, by mail/ fax, and/or phone, and from the Purchase Referred Care department.
Receives routine telephone calls and visitors; provides information as to the procedure to follow for registration of new patients, location of clinic, operating hours, etc.
Assists patients, tracking and coordinating medical record flow and release.
Receives, scans, indexes, and files medical/administrative information using the facility scanning software.
Performs chart analysis/audits on all PCC forms.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-06: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level,.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
For GS-06: Performs duties related to the receipt, scanning, indexing, and filing of non-electronic medical and administrative information/forms. Processes routine requests for Release of Information (ROI) that present in-person, mail, fax, and/or phone while ensuring identification and authorization before releasing.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
