About the Position: The person in this position will serve as the Practice Manager (PM), with responsibility for independently coordinating, planning, and evaluating direct administration, management, and coordination of dental clinic operations. Provides administrative services and advice in order to meet procedural requirements pertaining to the provisions of outpatient care to the beneficiary population.
Duties
Manage scheduling of delivery of patient services of all clinic providers.
Provide technical and administrative supervision over employees assigned to the Dental clinic.
Provide assistance, information, and/or recommendations to staff members on the administrative aspects of program quality improvements activities.
Brief newly assigned personnel on the administrative aspects of the program.
Provide management and oversight of day-to-day delivery of dental services within the clinic.
Act as focal point for coordination of temporary duty visits of residents, interns, students, and providers from other military facilities.
Identify developmental and training needs of employees.
Use a personal computer and word processing, database, and graphic display software to produce written correspondence, reports, support analysis, and presentations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative and technical assistance for a medical treatment facility; and coordinating clinical programs, personnel and developing procedures within a health care facility; and providing clinical guidance and recommendations in all areas of deficiency. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Successful completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, OR two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
