About the Position: To serve as a resources advisor/budget analyst performing day-to-day control and management involving the formulation, execution, and/or analysis of the organization's budget and funding requirements. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Serve as a Budget Analyst performing budget duties relating to the formulation, execution and control of budget programs. Works directly with supervisors/managers on resolving problems and determining funding requirements. Serves as the primary contact for day to day budget/financial issues. Reviews budget requests summitted by the organization to ensure accuracy. Utilizes budgetary techniques/systems to conduct studies for the organization. Review annual funding request to determine budget estimates.

Requirements

• This is a DOD Financial Management position. The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level 1 within 2 years of appointment.
• This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1.) Developing formats and databases to capture, sort, and analyze financial data to compose monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports; 2.) Examining and verifying cost data and detecting mis-obligation and net expenditures of funds when processing customer requests; 3.) Performing analysis of financial data to determine and track trends in obligations and expenditures. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: business management, finance, or accounting. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
