About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) in Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Duties
Serves as the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Master Black Belt (MBB), Innovation Division. Provide guidance, direction, and coaching in the conduct of business improvement activities across United States Special Operations Command (USASOC).
Works with USASOC Senior Leaders across the enterprise as the principal change agent/advisor to identify potential improvement opportunities.
Coordinates LSS initiatives throughout USASOC and functions as the coordinating office for communications between USASOC, USSOCOM, DA, other Army and USSOCOM organizations, Department of Defense agencies, and private industry.
Serve as a senior trainer for Army Master Black Belt, Black Belt, Green Belt, and Project Identification and Selection Workshops.
Works with senior leadership as a critical change agent in assuring, directing, and performing the steps necessary to create business cases based on objective data within the framework of the CPI methodology.
Requirements
- A one-year probationary period may be required unless otherwise completed.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- TDY Business Travel up to 40%.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Info clearance.
- This position requires a pre-employment drug test and random drug tests thereafter.
- This position requires a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience in 1) Applying analytical and evaluative methods/techniques to a broad range of complex and high level functional areas; 2) Developing new theories or hypotheses for the root cause of suboptimal processes and problems and formulating solutions; 3) Utilizing process tools used in Lean Six Sigma (e.g., hypothesis development and testing, value stream mapping, statistical tools, project charters, customer analysis, multi-generational planning, failure mode and effects analysis, cause and effect matrix and diagrams, control charts, process simplification, etc); 4) Analyzing views and leading process owners toward workable, more efficient processes for accomplishing identified goals; 5) Organizing details of multiple subjects, issues, position and situations and presenting options in a logical, understandable manner; 6) Designing, developing, maintaining, and conducting Lean Six Sigma training courses; and 7) Advising leadership on Lean Six Sigma concepts and methodologies to identify business process improvement opportunities.
