One permanent Health Technician (Diabetes) in the OPD Nursing Department at the Whiteriver Service Unit in Whiteriver, Arizona. The Incumbent will provides patients with diabetes education in accordance and The Standards of Diabetes Care, Involves patient recruitment, consenting patients, computer operations, data collection and patient health data entry. The Incumbent will be supervised by the OPD Nursing Supervisory.
Duties
Schedules new patient and current patient with advanced or same day appointments at a time that is mutually available for both the doctors and the patient.
Serves as a receptionist to greet patients and other parties as they enter the Diabetes Management Department.
Participates in improvement projects, meetings, and in-service.
Works as a key member of the clinic team in maintaining; proper use of equipment, exam rooms, facilitate flow of patients through clinic, comply with WRSU guidelines and policies.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
GS-05:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-04 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Making appointments, performing visual acuity testing, conducting preliminary vision/health assessments for diabetes patients. OR
Successfully completed of a 4-year course of study leading to a Bachelor's Degree with major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position. OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage must equal 100 percent to qualify for the GS-5 grade level
GS-06:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-05 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Work involves patient recruitment, consenting patients, computer operation, data collection and patient health data entry.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
