This Permanent Paramedic position is to be filled in the Clinical Department at the Whiteriver Service Unit (WRSU) in Whiteriver, Arizona. The Incumbent will perform advanced technical health care in response to various emergencies involving injuries, accidents, and illness. The Incumbent will be supervised by the Supervisor Clinical Department.
Duties
Develops a plan to provide direct patient care to clients, which involves the assessment and evaluation applicable to emergent care
Provides interventions based on triage decisions and evaluates effectiveness of interventions.
Performs Paramedic (EMT-P) duties by identifying and treating trauma and/or medical emergencies using acquired knowledge and skill in emergency medicine techniques
Assists other units with IV starts and coverage in crisis situations
Assists other units with IV starts and coverage in crisis situations and maintains professional knowledge and proficiency through continuing education, staff meetings, workshops, and serving on committees.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent at the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Assessing patient conditions by interviewing patients; continually monitoring and assessing patient conditions and administering oxygen and assisting with controlling of hemorrhage; cleaning and bandaging wounds; stabilizing, splinting, reduction and casting fractures, and caring for behavioral emergencies. OR
Completed 1 year (18 semester hours) of graduate education that is directly related to the work of the position. OR
Combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualification for this position. The total percentage must equals at least 100 percent to qualify for the GS-07 grade level.
Selective Placement Factor: You MUST have a current Paramedic certification/licensure from any U.S. State. You MUST submit a copy of your certification and/or licensure with your application.
