The Health Technician position located in the Preventive Medicine Department - Public Health Nursing at Whiteriver Service Unit in Whiteriver, Arizona. Incumbent will perform primarily non urgent care safely to our patients; Assists in maintaining an environment that is prepared for effective patient care. Incumbent will report to the Director of Public Health Nurse.
Duties
Provide care on a functional basis to a patient or group of patients.
Performs and documents certain aspects of basic and skilled patient care under the direction of the RN.
Perform and documents specific aspects of certain invasive patient care procedures under the direction of the Physician and/or Nurse Practitioner.
May perform the following only aft er completion of competency based on orientation such as standard vital signs, glucose monitoring; orthostatic vital signs, venous puncture, 12-lead EKG, and provide patient education on various health issues.
Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-06 Grade Level:- Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: non-professional work of a technical or support nature in the field of health and medicine, such as taking vital signs, determining what the provider needs to treat the patient, monitoring patient's conditions by interview patients. Assisting with the following Appointment coordination, administration support, assisting with activities of daily living, including perineal care, breastfeeding support, newborn care, and car seat training.
Current and active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Association ofMedical Assistants (AAMA) or the American Medical Technologist (AMT) is preferred but not required.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status)candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
